I like to dress casual and simple, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring! These shrimp earrings (literally) add a little sass. Also, these will be my go to heels for the fall! Only $20 at the Dillard’s sale. This floral clutch was a gift many, many years ago, but it’s still a fav.

Job Interviews
I’m no expert in this area. I was fortunate enough to land a job in finance after graduating from college. It didn’t pay much my first year, but, boy, did I learn a lot! It’s still a little strange to me how you can be expected to handle a multi-million dollar portfolio, but only get paid peanuts. Oh well, that’s water under the bridge now. And, like I said, I learned a lot. And that’s priceless. After that I became my daddy’s ‘right-hand-man,’ at the company he owns. Talk about a change of scene! I went from wearing matching skirt suits to jeans, leggings…whatever I wanted! Well, my daddy has relocated to another area of Texas and I decided to stay here. (It was a great three years!) So job hunting has been my job lately. Today I had an interview for the position of a computer lab teacher. I have a second interview tomorrow! I’ll keep ya posted! Take a peek at my simple interview outfit. Pearls and polka dots.
Casual EmbroideryÂ
Usually embroidered clothing is brightly colored, but not this top. Yet it’s so simple and delicate, with lots of embroidery detail. It was perfect for running around earlier this morning. Some days you don’t want to make a statement or stand out and today was just that kind of day.  Btw, yesterday after the gym, Lissette and I were wandering about and came across the last day of a rummage sale and everything was 50% off. I got this vintage purse for $1.50!

Summer Nights Call for Summer Dresses…and Neon Colors
I am lucky enough to live in the same town as an amazing boutique that has awesome clothes year-round and end of season clearances. This dress is one I snagged during a sale and it is amazing, yet simple and effortless. The brocade detail makes it not too teeny-bopper and just beautiful. Support your local businesses, refer business their way when you can, build a relationship with the owner, and get the scoop on sales, too! 😉
Running Errands?
It’s summer and its hot. The only thing worse is you’ve got a lot to do and only a little bit of time to do it. Jeans? Too hot! Sundress? Please, I’m not trying to look cute. I didn’t even put on makeup. Shorts? I didn’t shave my legs! I said I had little time, remember? So, you’re solution is an oversized tank and leggings! Yessss! Also, when you’ve got a lot of errands to run, sometimes a tote bag works best. Happy summer!
Be on the Lookout for End of Summer Sales!
It’s that strange, transitional time of year when it’s still super hot outside, but stores are getting Fall clothes. If you’re blessed enough to get a Fall season in your neck of the woods, YAY you. If you live in South Texas, summer lasts until Thanksgiving. So really, now is a great time to search local stores for end of summer clearances. For instance, these sandals I featured below are obviously for summer, but with weather temps being so warm, I’ll def wear these until our first cold front. I feel like as long as you follow the colors of the season, you’re good! These sandals were regularly priced $70, now on sale for $24 at Dillard’s!
Do You Shy Away From Bright Lipstick?
I used to. But, not anymore! But I can totally relate if you are cautious. But I highly suggest visiting a Mac Cosmetics counter or your nearest Sephora and taking a look and trying out some colors. You’d really be surprised what a lipstick can do to your mood! Happy, happy! Note: I’m not a makeup snob. I’ll buy anything from Nars to Mac to Maybelline to Wet and Wild, but when it comes to trying out colors, it is almost worth paying the extra amount to be able to try out colors. Also, usually, higher end lipsticks have better nourishment and color pigment. Also, a little fun summer tip: I hate wearing makeup when I’m out at the beach or at the pool, but if you just add a touch of waterproof mascara, a super-duper bright lipstick, and of course sunblock, you’ll feel like a celeb!
I bought Mac’s amplified lipstick in the color Chatterbox yesterday and it’s awesome!
