Folk art and tears

When I saw this dress, I was in retail heaven! I was on a random shopping trip with my friend, Mel. We were shopping for HER, not me! I think I even mentioned to her, “Don’t let me buy anything!” But as I turned around a corner and saw this dress I was taken aback. The colors, the embroidery, the fit! And somehow I managed to squeeze into a size 2 (winning!), I just had to have it. We were at TJ Maxx, because I don’t think I mentioned that. And I thought to myself, where have I seen this dress before? I looked at the original tags on the dress and it was from Anthropologie. I went home, did a little more research and guess what? The dress I just bought for $30, was originally from Anthropolgie for $178!!! Well, I have had the dress for a while and was waiting for just the perfect occasion to wear it and the months flew by and finally it was the day of my friends taking me out for my birthday. Really, this dress saved me. It was possibly the worst day of my life that day and any joy that I could shed upon myself was welcome. And although the day still sucked and I had cried all day, I loved slipping into this dress. Oh btw, if you ever cry your eyes out and don’t want the puffy eye look, pop two advil gel pills every three hours and put ice packs on your eyes. It sounds funny now, but if my eyes were all puffy, I would have just stayed home. Anyway, I love, love, love this dress!

Thanks for stopping by my page and welcome! A little bit about me: I am a born and raised Texas Girl. I love all things fashion, faith, family and friends. I believe fashion doesn't have to break the bank, if you know what basic pieces to buy and how to accessorize. I would describe my fashion sense as simple and casual with a touch of feminine. I am extra petite, I love food, and I am passionate about animals. I am a teacher who loves to shop and I hold a degree in Art and Business.
