Today’s theme is showing your school spirit by wearing your favorite college shirt. Go Islanders! π I spiced up the tank with a neon yellow cardigan.
Sorry, my desk is such a mess! Yikes.

Dress Season! π
This March has been warm! So I can start wearing my beloved embroidered Mexican dresses. I’ll have to wear this dress again soon to show how I belted it to give it shape. It was perfect for the Art Walk on Friday night.
Mexican dress: The Market Square in San Antonio $23
Pom Pom belt: Hobby Lobby (ribbon section) $2
Wedges: Dolce Vita Dillard’s $60
π Royal Blue and Neon Yellowπ
Sometimes when I don’t really have anything special to wear, I find that mixing color combos helps to boost your look. Also, doing that is very economical! Buy lots of solids and mix up your accessories.
Here I paired neon yellow earrings with a plain, royal blue sweater.
Sweater JCPenney $14.99
Earrings: Burlington Coat Factory $2.99
Mexican Embroidery β€οΈππ
I was talking with my mom not long ago about how much I miss traveling to the Mexican border and shopping and eating and drinking, like we used to. My mom and I would pack up and head down to the border just to look around and buy trinkets and eat and drink. I hope someday it can get back to being safe enough to do those things again.
So for now, the Market Square in San Antonio is the closest I can get to buy my beloved Mexican embroidery items. I bought this purse there a few weeks ago and have been anxiously waiting to wear it. The possibilities are endless as to how to wear the purse. With all those colors…
Dress: Forever 21 $17.90
Purse: San Antonio Market Square $20
Booties: Dolce Vita regular price $130 (I got mine at Dillard’s for $24)
Spring Time!Β
It’s technically not Spring, yet, but I always unofficially start Spring on March 1st. South Texas weather usually permits. I’m excited to be wearing colors and open toe shoes again.
So today wasn’t bad coming back to school after a 4-day weekend in New Orleans. I’m a tad sleepy, but the same goes for any day really. I’ve got lots of shopping on my agenda for trips and upcoming plans, so stay tuned.
Necklace: Target $9.99
Sweater: JC Penney $14.99
Another Family Trip in the Books βοΈ
Bourbon Street was a little wild, but when you’re with the people you love, it doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing. As long as you have each other, you have everything.
If every bad thing we’ve suffered as a family, even the moments of pain we’ve endured, has brought us to be together at this moment, I’m OK with it…at least in this moment.
Goodbye NOLA ππ»π
This Yves Saint Laurent lipstick is like clouds on your lips! The color selection was really limited in the area I live in, but I’m really happy with this one. If you want a cheaper dupe, try Mac’s “Impassioned.” Both colors are very similar.
It was my first time to NOLA and it sure was fun. We really “laissez les bons temps rouler.”
Tank: Target $10
Jeans: Old Navy $15
Sweater:Forever 21 $22.90
Shoes: Converse $50
Lipstick: Yves Saint Laurent $37 (color Rogue Rose #52)
Update: I have just been informed about Wet and Wild “What’s up Doc” and Milani’s “Flamingo Pose” are sooooooo close, too! Can’t beat the price. Credit to: Lisettee Duran
Made for a Queen π
I seriously love this top. I’m really into off the shoulder looks right now, too. I’ve had so much fun in NOLA, so tonight, I’m going to wear this out to dinner.
I always hate goodbyes when I see my brother, but I’ve got lots of fun things planned ahead. I’m really looking forward to a spring break Texas road trip that Melissa and I are taking in two weeks and a Dwight Yoakum concert and Strawberry Festival that Lissette, Melissa, and I have coming up in April. Stay tuned!
Top: Zara $34
Jeans: Joes Jeans $198
Alone Time
In a non-depressing way, I’m used to spending a lot of time alone. It’s not necessarily that I like being alone, because I live and die for the people I’m here with (mom and bro, FYI), but I needed a little by myself time, so I went down to the hotel lobby to get a cup of coffee and watch the marathon runners go by. I’m really enjoying New Orleans, by the way!
I’m wearing this cardigan again and am really digging it; so much that I wore it again this morning. And I just had to snap a selfie in it.
